Beaver Springs – With all the weather Mother Nature threw at drag racers the previous weekend, the exact opposite was in play today. Beautiful skies greeted everyone who made their way to Beaver Springs Dragway. Today was All Ford day, a fact that was obvious by the sight of three of the nicest Mustangs one could ever see on display in the show area.

As for the track, a wide variety of Ford motor vehicles were on hand to fill four classes; Pro Ford, FE Power, Hot Ford, and Cool Ford. With the mix of cars out there, it was a great show regardless if it was one of the fastest or slowest cars going down the track. Definitely something for everyone to enjoy, from the warm-up burnouts right down to the wonderful aroma of racing fuel filling the air, it was a day to remember.

If hot rod Fords aren’t enough to put a smile on your face, there was a variety of other cars to watch during Test and Tune sessions. Lots of good hot rods to appreciate, whether they were Fords or not.

With how good the weather was, you could almost call it a perfect day, but there were a few minor incidents. The BSD staff was right there to pounce on every little thing to make sure every hiccup was barely noticeable and all the racers were as safe as possible. Everyone who competes should show some love and appreciation for these hard-working folks who keep it all flowing as smoothly as possible.

In the end, someone had to lose, and that’s what makes winners. Everyone I talked to was having such a great time, winning seemed secondary, and was probably just a bonus to those who outlasted the rest. It’s hard to tell when the losers are just as happy as the winners.

At the end of the day, the big boss man had time to make a well-deserved pass. It wasn’t a Ford, but still a car more than worthy of seeing in action. All-in-all, it was a great day for everyone in attendance. If you weren’t able to be there, you were the one who missed out. Don’t make the same mistake again! Be there!
