Cumberland, Md. – Some cars are built to race, some cars are built to be put on display, and some are specifically built to run the car show circuit. And then there’s “The Menace” 1950 Ford Business Coupe of Eric Broadwater. Eric purchased the car in West Virginia, and he’s about as enthusiastic as one can be about driving it. It’s powered by a 327 small block Chevy engine that is durable and fun to drive. Eric relates that the color when he bought it is pretty much the color it is today. He’s always been a fan of the old gassers, so this is the kind of car he wanted to build. According to Eric, “I wanted it to look like it came out of a barn in 1960 and somebody drag raced it. I just kind of made a [gasser] clone out of it. This is the part where his gasser enthusiasm kicks in. Instead of hiding the car away or spending his time chasing car show trophies, Eric says, “I drive it every day weather permitting. It’s not built to polish, it’s built to drive, I’ve had a lot of good times with it.”

There’s no doubt daily-driving a car like this can result in good times. Everyone should take a page out of Eric’s book and put together their own “gasser clone” to love and drive everywhere!
